Here we will teach you How to stop/start/restart cpanel in Virtual Private Server or Dedicated Server ?
Yesterday we faced one minor problem related to our server regarding the Control Pannel.. We are using cpanel/whm for administrating our client websites…
Due to some issues, cpanel/whm automatically down and cant access it. At first i just looked my ip working or not? using http://just-ping.com/ and understand that IP is good working.. After that i have open the “putty” comment prompt( if you don’t know about putty, then just click the putty name and download putty SSH software.
Putty Login Page
Enter your IP into IP area and click SSH radio button.. a black window will appear on the screen you need to enter your VPS root password and press enter button.
putty-comment-page
While typing password, you cant see anything .. just type password and press enter button
To check the status…
Just type
service cpanel status
cpsrvd (pid 7575) is running/stopped…
If stopped… to restart the cpanel service…
service cpanel restart
OR
#/etc/init.d/cpanel restart
OR
#/etc/rc.d/init.d/cpanel restart
The command will stop the services first and then start the cpsrvd daemon again.
You should be able to login to cpanel/whm from your browser now.
Note: please clear firewall from your vps panel before doing cpanel restart.
